Treatment of TMJ related problems

The temporomandibular joint (TMJ) can be the source of many problems including headaches, facial pain, wear on teeth, clicking, painful chewing, restricted mouth opening….

Physiotherapists use techniques such as exercise, acupuncture, manual therapy (gentle stretching and movement of the joint) and heat or ice to help alleviate problems and pain associated with the TMJ.

We consult with dental professionals who also treat TMJ disorders so that you have a team approach to dealing with these problems.
